We are delighted to announce that Br Agostinho Dos Santos will be ordained priest on Saturday 15 November in Timor-Leste. Agostinho’s ordination will bring to 20 the number of ordained Timorese Carmelites.
Born in 1986 Agostinho joined the Carmelite Formation Program in 2009 on completing high school. He made his first vows as a Carmelite in 2013 and gained a bachelor’s degree in philosophy in 2017. After studying English in Australia for 2 years, Agostinho returned to Timor-Leste in 2019 to complete his studies for the priesthood, earning a bachelor’s degree in theology in 2024.
Since his ordination as a deacon, Agostinho has been gaining pastoral experience in several parishes. He will be ordained by Cardinal Virgilio Do Carmo Da Silva SDB in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Ermera, Timor-Leste and will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving in the same Church the next day.
Congratulations, Agostinho, on this important milestone in your life!
