Presence matters in a school community

Fr Matthew Tonini O.Carm walks alongside students, offering quiet guidance, care and constancy in the moments that matter most.

Because boys don’t just need direction - they need to be known.

Starting secondary school is a big step - for boys and for their families.

At Whitefriars, that journey doesn’t begin on the first morning. It’s built carefully over time, through transition, relationships and a culture where boys are known and supported from the very start.

This week, we’ve seen Year 7 students arrive feeling calm and prepared, parents reassured by the care shown and older boys stepping in as quiet guides - reminding us that belonging grows over time.

From the early days to Year 12, faith, gentleness and presence shape the experience here.
If you’re beginning to think about secondary school for your son, Open Day is an opportunity to see that journey for yourself - to walk the grounds, meet our people and understand what care looks like in practice.

Sometimes, the best way to understand a school is simply to step inside the gates.
