Fr Hugh Brown (centre) gathered with Carmelites, family, friends and parishioners at St Joseph's Church, Port Melbourne to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his Ordination on 31 August.
Fr Hugh was ordained on 29 August 1975 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Wentworthville (NSW) together with Fr Paul Chandler. Hugh celebrated his Mass of Thanksgiving at St Bernadette's Church, Castle Hill (NSW) and Paul at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Kingsgrove (NSW).
Over the years Hugh has been involved in the formation of young Carmelites, Catholic teacher training, teaching seminarians and adults and secondary school education, serving as Principal of Whitefriars College. He also worked in the Catholic Education Office, Melbourne and as Parish Priest of Port Melbourne/Middle Park parishes.
