The Carmelites in Timor-Leste met recently to discuss their life and ministry and to elect a new Council for Timor-Leste. Fr Roque Soares had earlier been appointed Provincial Delegate for Timor-Leste. Fr Carlito Da Silva and Br Carlito Da Silva were elected as the Delegate’s Council. Together, these 3 brothers assist the Prior Provincial and his Council to foster the growth and development of Carmelite Life in Timor-Leste, look after the pastoral care of the friars and manage day to day affairs.
Among the issues discussed were the development of the new house in Comoro (Dili), Guisarudo parish and Zumalai Parish and Boarding House. Mr Joe Konynenburg (Provincial Business Manager) also joined the Assembly to speak about finances, management and accounting practices.
