During the summer holidays, Brs Anacleto Guterres Da Costa and José Natalino Freitas successfully completed programs in Clinical Pastoral Education. CPE is a program of education and formation for pastoral care practitioners in which students develop professionalism, personal identity and skills through an experiential education process. Anacleto completed the program at the Peter Mac Cancer Centre, Melbourne, and José at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The 3 month program allows students to reflect on their contact with patients in a pastoral care environment. They also learn to interact with health care practitioners (doctors, nurses, dieticians, etc) in a professional way and meet for regular supervision both as a group and individually. “The CPE program was both challenging and rewarding,” Anacleto said.
Congratulations Anacleto and José!
