Br Martinho Da Cruz Lemos made his Solemn Profession of Vows (life commitment) in the Carmelite Order today during Mass at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt Carmel, Middle Park (Vic). Fr Paul Cahill (Prior Provincial) was principal celebrant and received Martinho's profession of vows.
Among those attending the Mass were parishioners of the Carmelite Parish, fellow-students from the University of Divinity, members of the East Timorese community in Melbourne and fellow Carmelites.
Martinho joined the Carmelites in 2006 and made his first profession of vows in 2010 at Hera, Timor-Leste. In December 2013 Martinho arrived in Australia to study English and then began his studies at the University of Divinity in Melbourne.
We warmly congratulate Martinho and give him our prayerful support for the rest of his Carmelite journey as a full member of the Order and the Province of Our Lady, Help of Christians, Australia and Timor-Leste.
