You, your family and friends are warmly invited to join us for this year’s Mass of Remembrance at 6.00pm on Saturday 14 November at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, cnr Richardson and Wright Streets, Middle Park, Vic.
Each year The Carmelites hold this special mass as an opportunity to remember, give thanks and pray for those who are now in God’s care. It is also an opportunity to draw strength from each other as we gently continue the journey of entrusting our loved ones into God’s care.
During the Mass you will be invited to light a candle in memory of your deceased relatives and friends and to place it near the altar. You can take the candle home with you at the end of mass.
You can pdf send us the names of those you would like remembered in this special Mass.
As Carmelites we accompany people on their journey through grief. We provide solace and comfort, a gentle ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and practical support to get them through their pain.
You can help us continue this ministry of compassion by making a donation here.
This year we are especially conscious of the 3 Carmelites we have lost into God's care during 2015: Fr Noel Kierce, Fr Frank Shortis and Fr Jim De Laurier.
They were not only keen advocates of the Carmelite way of life, but more so, they were our brothers.
They were an integral part of the Carmelite family, guiding young people on a fruitful path in life, serving communities both near and far, keeping the Carmelite spirit alive in all of us.
Fr Noel, Fr Frank and Fr Jim were each in their own way living legends, touching people from all walks of life with their gentle, nurturing natures. Each one of them embodied the Carmelite spirit of faith and love. Each one of them has left a lasting legacy that will continue to touch people for years to come.
You can read more about these inspirational men here.
I do hope you will join us for our special Remembrance Mass when together we will remember those we haved loved who are now with God.
