This year we will be celebrating the 70th annual Mothers’ Mass at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Middle Park (VIC).

Mass celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (16 July) was originally offered for all Australians serving or killed during World War II.

With the dawn of peace in 1945 this Mass was then offered for all mothers, living and deceased.

For many years those attending the Mass would bring small posies of flowers to form a carpet of flowers in front of Our Lady’s statue as their way of celebrating and remembering their mothers.

This year we would like to revive the tradition and so we invite you to join us at the Mass and bring along a small posy in remembrance of and thanksgiving for your mother and all mothers.

Our 70th Anniversary Mothers’ Mass will be held on Sunday 19 July, 10.30am at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, cnr Richardson & Wright Streets, Middle Park, VIC.
