Lay Carmelites from around Asia gathered at Cebu, Philippines, from 29 April - 3 May. The central theme of the Congress was: Identity, Governance and Formation of the Third Order of Carmelites, ‘See, I am doing something new’. (Isaiah 43:19).
The Congress was attended by representatives of TOC in Australia: Peter White (Moderator) and Maria Howe (Treasurer) and from Timor-Leste: Francisco Carmo da C. Tilman and Saturnina de Deus together with other representatives of TOCs in Asia and Oceania.
