Br António returns to minister in Portugal

On Wednesday 29 April there was a moment of great grace as the Carmelite Family in Dili gathered to commission Br António Olavio Exposto OCarm, for ministry as a missionary envoy to the Carmelite Commissariat in Portugal.

António had already spent 12 months in the Commissariat in 2025, ministering at the famous Marian Shrine of Fatima and in the Guest House run by the Carmelites there. He returned to Timor in December last year. The Commissary General of Portugal, Fr Agostinho Marques Castro, then asked that António return to Portugal for a further 3 years of ministry.

Mass was presided over by Fr Roque Soares da Cruz, (Provincial Delegate) in the presence of our Carmelite parishioners, Carmelite Sisters, members of the Carmelite Family and Br António’s mother and relatives. The Celebration of the Eucharist was held in the Chapel of the Carmelite Sisters, Fatuhada, and after the mass celebrations continued with dinner together.

Br António left for Portugal the next day.

Every blessing be with you, Br António, for your time in Portugal.
