Ordinary Time in the church’s year begins with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord which celebrates his identity as the ‘beloved Son’. On this second Sunday in Ordinary Time we move from the baptism to the mission of the one baptised.

Happy Christmas from the Carmelites of Australia and Timor-Leste.

We began Advent with the cry, ‘Come, Lord Jesus’. Now we end it with the joyful shout, ‘God is with us!’

Congratulations to five of our brothers who graduated from the Institute of Philosophy of Saint Francis de Sales (Salesian Institute), Comoro Dili, Timor Leste, on 16 December.

We warmly welcome Fr Christian Marave to our Province. Fr Christian is a member of the Philippines Province of Carmelites and is on loan to us for the next few years. He will be part of our community and parish at Wentworthville (NSW).

The Carmelite Provincial Council has announced the appointment of new Parish Priests for Port Melbourne/Middle Park and Wentworthville parishes.
