The feast of the Ascension commemorates the return of Jesus to the Father. Jesus leaves in body but remains with us through the gift of the Spirit.

You can download and save the scripture texts, reflections and prayers for Lectio Divina for each day of this month. Lectio Divina is a traditional way of praying the Scriptures. Visit our Lectio Divina page for more information about how to pray using Lectio Divina. Join our Lectio Online group. We meet every Friday at 10am (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) [You are welcome to join from other time zones, eg. Perth/Singapore/Philippines: 7am; Timor-Leste/Tokyo: 8am; New Zealand: 12pm; Los Angeles: Thursday 4pm; New York/Toronto: Thursday 7pm] to prayerfully reflect on the Gospel of the coming Sunday.

On 24 May, we celebrate Our Lady Help of Christians, beloved Patroness of Australia.

Fr Martinho Da Costa (PP Coorparoo QLD) recently celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass for 300 Timorese seasonal workers at Caboolture (QLD).

Our reading of The Farewell Discourse in John’s Gospel (13:31-17:26) continues in the Gospel for today as Jesus makes a number of promises to the disciples.

Given during Jesus’ last meal with his disciples, these words begin what is called The Farewell Discourse in John’s Gospel (13:31-17:26). They are Jesus’ last words to his disciples before his death.

Happy Mothers' Day to all our mums. May they be richly blessed for the blessing they have been and still are for us. We pray for all who are missing their mothers today.

This fourth Sunday of Easter is traditionally known as Good Shepherd Sunday because the Gospel for this Sunday always portrays Jesus as the Good Shepherd.

In the presence of a large crowd of Carmelites, parishioners, family and friends, Fr Anacleto Guterres Da Costa was ordained priest at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Middle Park (VIC) on 3 May by Bishop Anthony Ireland (Auxiliary, Melbourne).

The Carmelites of Australia & Timor-Leste elected a new leadership team during their Provincial Chapter (28 April-2 May).
